Created by Derrick Huggins, Founder & CEO of Avidity TV and the Avidity Recording Academy, this distinguished event spotlights the educators, students, and support professionals who are shaping the future with passion, innovation, and unwavering commitment.

Designed to uplift those who dedicate their lives to learning, leadership, and academic impact, the Avidity Education Awards brings together schools, districts, community partners, and families for an evening of recognition and inspiration. From exceptional teachers and visionary administrators to outstanding students and the essential staff who keep our schools thriving, this awards program highlights the often-unsung heroes who make education possible every single day.

STUDENTS

This award celebrates outstanding public school students who exemplify character, leadership, and a commitment to academic and personal growth. Nominees are evaluated on the following:

Contributes to a positive, inclusive school environment through kindness, respect, and strong character
Demonstrates dedication to academic success while engaging meaningfully in school activities, clubs, or community service
Exhibits leadership, responsibility, and perseverance that inspire peers and positively influence the campus community

TEACHERS

This award shines a spotlight on public school educators who go above and beyond in shaping the minds and futures of their students. Honorees are selected based on:

A deep, consistent passion for teaching and student success
Creative and forward-thinking instructional practices
A strong commitment to continuous learning and professional advancement

SCHOOL COUNSELORS

This award honors public school counselors who champion student well-being and help create a supportive, growth-focused school environment. Nominees are evaluated on the following:

Creates a safe, caring, and inclusive space for all students while implementing the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling
Effectively coordinates counseling services to guide students through personal, academic, and social challenges
Demonstrates professionalism and strong leadership in school counseling that leads to meaningful, positive student outcomes

PRINCIPALS

This award celebrates exceptional public school principals who lead with vision, integrity, and a deep commitment to student success. Honorees are selected based on:

Strength in cultivating a positive, thriving campus culture
Excellence in instructional leadership and effective school management
Strong communication skills and meaningful engagement with families and the community

ADMIN SUPPORT STAFF

This award recognizes public school administrative professionals who keep campuses running smoothly and create a welcoming, efficient environment for students, staff, and families. Nominees are evaluated on the following:
